Tour Description

Reception at the luggage claim area of the Iquitos Int’l Airport, where our staff will be waiting for you. Then we will take you to our operative offices in Iquitos where we will give you an orientation of our services in accord with your program. Afterwards, we will take you to the Bellavista Port, where we will use one of our speedboats to take you to the Heliconia Lodge along the Amazon River.

Arrival to the Lodge where our staff will welcome us with a complimentary jungle drink. After lunch, a fishing trip for piranhas and other fishes.

Along the journey back to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to observe the sunset and see the pink and gray dolphins.

Afterwards, we will have a delicious dinner and a brief explanation on the best ways to fish for Tucunare – Peacock Bass (Cichla o Cellaris), Arawana and other varieties.

Early morning breakfast.
We will start our trip on a speedboat to one of the tributaries of the Amazon River called the Maniti River towards Paparo Lake.

We will fish Tucunare (Peacock Bass) which has an average weight of 4 to 8 lbs., Arawana, etc.
Lunch Box.
We will continue our exciting fishing excursion.

Return to the lodge after observing the beautiful landscape, the twilight, etc.
Dinner.

Trip to the town of Mazan on the Napo River.

After crossing the narrowest point between the Amazon River and Napo River by 3 wheeled motorbikes we arrive to Mazan then we will take a small boat to start the trip along the Mazan River. Arrival to Yuto stream to fish for Tucunares and other species.

Lunch Box
Continue our fish excursion.
Return to the lodge
Dinner.

Breakfast.
Enjoy the tour for fishing for Catfish and Piranhas or just relax in our hammock room. Lunch. Transfer to Iquitos City and according with your flight schedule, transfer to the airport.

For your trip to the Lodge and for the jungle hikes we recommend that you take a backpack or small suitcase with only essential items. All big luggage, documents or values and other items can be stored in our offices for your convenience.
Programs may vary according to flight arrival / departure changes or weather conditions.
For this program we recommend to take morning flights to Iquitos and your returning flight to Lima in the afternoon.
Departures from Iquitos to Heliconia Lodge is at 08:30 am
Departures from Heliconia Lodge to Iquitos is at 14:00 pm
